Executive Director
Prince Edward Island Fishermen'S Association
Charlottetown,Pe
My primary role is to advocate association positions with industry and Provincial and Federal governments, This includes drafting position papers for Standing committees be it at the Provincial, Senate or Member of Parliament level. There are numerous challenges in the fishing industry which also presents great opportunities. This is a time to work with all levels of government and industry in setting and developing new policy to meet these current demands. Daily challenges include maintaining constructive dialogue with all levels of government, media management, staff and office co ordination, financial forecasting, new program development, fund sourcing for small and large projects and organizational strategy. The diversity of this position is significant and there is "never a dull day in the fishery". I would not have it any other way.
