There are numerous challenges in the fishing industry which also presents great opportunities. This is a time to work with all levels of government and industry in setting and developing new policy to meet these current demands. Daily challenges include maintaining constructive dialogue with all levels of government, media management, staff and office co ordination, financial forecasting, new program development, fund sourcing for small and large projects and organizational strategy. The diversity of this position is significant and there is "never a dull day in the fishery". I would not have it any other way.

In November of 2008 I became the Operations Manager for both freight and food tanker divisions. This was a challenging assignment given the recent merging of two separate trucking operations. Day to day activities included P & L management, ensuring safety compliance, development of a daily revenue tracking system and growing revenue.
