• The Software Development Team Lead has involved me working as part of an agile development team, developing software solutions and services for the independent aftermarket. I mainly worked on a project called Remote Vehicle Diagnostics (RVD) a diagnostic solution to allow OEM’s, lease and car hire fleets the ability to monitor and manage vehicles they have in the field by providing a constant connection to the car through a small plug-in dongle, a mobile app and a backend server. I worked within the Dongle’s Firmware team writing code in embedded C and C#; where my key achievements were:Implementing modules to validate the diagnostic data from the backend with the connected vehicle, this involved routines to check we weren’t triggering dashboard warning lamps, checking there was no conflict between communicating with different ECUs during the same ignition cycle and filtering to ensure we only allows read only diagnostic requests. Worked on the development of a C# Windows Form based test application, this allows us to test our Dongle solution independently of the mobile and Backend. While working on the RVD project I also took on the following responsibilities:• Scrum Master: I wanted to take on more responsibility and help our team to better follow the Continental processes. The role include: driving our daily synchronisation meetings, managing the team’s workload in Version One, aiding the project manager in task planning, prioritisation and handling impediments.• Integrator: Took on the release integrator role for RVD Production because I wanted to enhance my skills and gain a better understanding of the RVD system. The main responsibilities are maintaining our Jenkins build server, producing release notes, managing code releases; ensuring our processes are followed with the aim of maintaining code quality and meeting release deadlines. • H8 Coverage and Reverse Engineering: Writing service routines for an Hitachi H8 based diagnostics handset and reverse engineering coverage data. These were mainly TPMS valve replacement routines, live data and actuators, various diagnostic protocols including: KW2000, ISO14229 UDS & TP2.0.
