Personal Bankers are responsible for the front-line services provided to customers. We aim to provide convenient, reliable banking services to New Hampshire. Our bank has four branches; they are located in Somersworth, Sanbornville, Rochester, and Alton. We are a small community bank putting an emphasis on customer service. We are: Your Neighbor. Your Partner. Your Bank. I was recently promoted to the position of Branch Supervisor at the Alton Branch. I have an amazing team of people around me and I feel that this job has taught me how to remain calm and deal in the facts: even when emotions get involved. I am curious about branch management, and another goal of mine is to become a commercial loan officer. I look forward to gaining more valuable experience in these areas as my career progresses.

I worked as an account manager under a mentor for almost three weeks, and then on my own for about four more weeks after learning the basics of product knowledge, sales theory, and the pitch. I had a familiar territory assigned to me, which I was responsible for covering in its entirety, before being assigned the next territory. I was charged with approaching at least 50 businesses a day, if possible. In order to do this I had to spend my time effectively, and utilize sales strategies to make sure I could keep the customer engaged. This internship was very challenging because many times you were talking to people who just did not want or need the service. What I then learned is how my attitude can make the sale, not just the product or deal that I was trying to provide for the customer. I learned how to handle rejection in a positive manner, to be professional at all times, and to not give up when a person gives you a hard time. This job also helped me with my personal relationship skills, and making friends.

At Libby's I was a dishwasher and kitchen hand, but my responsibilities have increased significantly now that I have begun working at JP's grill. I have to use multi-tasking, prioritization, and team work to make sure that the kitchen runs smoothly during the busiest times of day at JP's Grill. I have to know the rightful location of every dish in the kitchen as well as how to properly clean and organize all of those dishes and the kitchen itself. On the fry station I must prepare enough chicken and fries to keep all of the orders satisfied. I also have to prepare wraps, salads, and cook food on the grill as needed. I always have to be sure that all of the proper closing and opening prep is done before the start and end of the day, and I work hard to make the experience at JP's as pleasant as possible for the patrons.

At Rue 21 I was a sales associate. I had the duties of greeting customers as they entered the store, offering fragrances that I had to sell for a monthly quota, and unpacking shipments as they arrived. One time, the manager sent me out on the side of Rt. 130 (which was adjacent to the store) to dance and spin an arrow-shaped sign around, alerting potential customers of our sale. I am committed to performing my duties as well as I possibly can, so I put on my million-dollar smile and went outside to spin that sign. It felt good to conquer the fear of people judging me as they drove by. It was definitely an exercise in self confidence. At least I was allowed to listen to music so I had something to dance to.At the time I was embarrassed, but now I am proud of this story as it shows my ability to push myself out of my comfort zone, especially when it is for the greater good of the team.
