I grew up in an entrepreneurial family and at age 23, I opened an insurance agency. Despite having success on the outside I grappled with common business owner challenges. I struggled to get my team to execute my vision of the company, I couldn't get my team to replicate how I operated in the business. My team would often joke "If we just stay quiet, Ian will forget everything he just said and move on to something else". In pursuit of success, I followed the traditional advice of working harder. I put in long hours, my phone was always glued to my hand, and even in those rare times that I wasn't working in the office, my mind was always distracted. I wasn't present in my personal life because I was always obsessively thinking about my business and the obstacles and opportunities. This eventually led to burnout, health issues, and compounded stress....and then I became a father of triplets. I knew I needed to change, I couldn't continue to be a burned-out, stressed-out, angry and absent father. Despite the ability to be physically present with my three children, I was never mindfully present. I needed to find balance and in that search, I discovered the book “Traction” and it changed my life!I attempted to self-implement the Entrepreneurial Operating System outlined in the book "Traction". Our Leadership team finally decided to hire an EOS implementer and that changed everything:- We 10X'd the business- Turning my vision into reality- Built a culture we were proud of I still own the insurance agency, but now I focus on my passion. I work with fellow entrepreneurs, leveraging my experience and the simple tools and principles found in EOS to guide them toward reclaiming their lives and running exceptional businesses. With a deep understanding of the challenges business owners face, I am dedicated to empowering them to thrive in both their professional and personal spheres.
