Since finishing my training in 2011 I have been in the field army working with the Royal Corps of Signals. Some of my roles and achievements are:• Maintaining and commanding an armoured vehicle fitted with Communications equipment.• Diagnostics and maintenance of radio equipment.• Deploying on Brigade HQ level communications exercises and liaising with staff officers to meet their ICT needs.• Myself and a team set up a LAN/WAN network of over 60 field combat nodes within a fast moving brigade HQ multiple times over a 4-week exercise.• Stepping up as Complex Corporal while deployed on Brigade level exercises to run communications in the HQ, which could be up to 100 nodes.• During an exercise within a small team, we were able to fully set up communications equipment and establish voice communications over High Frequency radio means from Germany back to the UK.• I was the Driving and Maintenance instructor for the armoured communications vehicles teaching up to 4 students of all ranks at a time.• Teaching Brigade Staff officers, up to the rank of Colonel, basic communications and talking them around an armoured vehicle.
