I provided occupational pension expertise in a bid for the NEST administration contract. I was responsible for ensuring the proposition was commercially viable and that the systems and web build were aligned to the complex requirements and regulations.Employed on temporary contract, but IFDS asked me to remain with them to maintain the momentum in their efforts to get into the Life/Pensions and Employee Benefits Market.Reporting directly to the Managing Director - I focused on very large-scale tender processes including the creation of and presenting to potential clients .I also had responsibility for the development of a cutting edge web front end/platform/wealth solution to bring to market. Attended various conferences and seminars, together with reading various pension publications to ensure I keep my knowledge up to date within the world of Occupational/Trust based pensions and to raise IFDS profile.I joined IFDS to a number of associations and groups to offer views on how technology can be used more effectively in business. An example of where this has been successful is the membership of the Association of Financial Mutual’s. This led to a substantial business win and continues to raise the company profile. Initiated meetings with selection consultants to ensure that IFDS are now considered as a viable solution for business opportunities in a new market. The impact of this was to create opportunities with two very large business opportunities for IFDS.

I also had responsibility for ensuring the proposition was commercially viable.Managed full responsibility for the P&L of the project which was £6million and I delivered both the administration platform and the web proposition within budgets, despite the enormity of the project.Pivotal in the subsequent contract negotiations and then assumed lead on shaping the proposition to ensure that administration practice became more commercially viable. In only 12 months, the proposition was ready for market and we went live with first client on the new platform within 4 months on launching to market.Met with key selection consultants and generated a number of opportunities which culminated in winning a high profile piece of business.Maintained the product so it remained market leading while being heavily involved in the sales process - finding opportunities, initial meeting, pitches, closing deals, contract wording and negotiations.I took part in round table debates both in public/live and for press, discussing a wide variety of pension and employee benefit related issues and topics.Wrote many articles for the Pension Press on a variety of issues.
