I am a second year undergraduate student studying to earn my Bachelor's of Science in psychology the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I plan to attend professional school to earn a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) and subsequently enter the mental health care field.Through my academic career, I have honed my skills as a writer, researcher, and interviewer as a student journalist. I have covered complex topics with detailed reporting and strong journalistic writing. Through my time as a journalist, I have learned the vital role that journalism plays in advocating for marginalized groups and calling attention to systemic inequities. I recognize the responsibility, as a journalist writing with authority, to report on issues with fairness and sensitivity.As a professional baseball official, I have established myself as a reliable contract worker and an impartial decision-maker. Officiating requires a strong foundation of rules knowledge, game-sense, and working relationships with coaches, players, and other officials to effectively manage a competitive game environment. By consistently delivering high quality work, I have established rapport with veteran officials and assignors in my local organizations. In recognition of my exemplary work, I have earned consistent assignments in a semi-professional league in Chicagoland and Wisconsin.
