I have worked for Renishaw in the Encoder Products Division since 2011. I am a Principal Mechanical Engineer working on the design and development of next generation optical encoders. I work within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high quality, reliable, products and processes within demanding timescales.I have a great passion for improving processes by automating repetitive tasks, removing steps that do not add value and introducing new, more efficient, methods to reach the end goal. I have no problem in challenging existing processes if I can see a better way to get the job done. Equally, I recognise the use of best practices and encourage all key players to work together to ensure those best practices are shared and fully utilised.Previously, I had 13 years experience using Pro/Engineer and related tool sets for SELEX Galileo (formerly GEC Marconi and BAE Systems) who operate primarily in the defence market. I worked on all stages of product design from concept bids through to working directly with the customer on in-service support contracts. I led small design teams on both static and dynamic infra-red camera systems.
