While at the ECHR I focused on Irish applications and Single Judge cases. This involved predominately Criminal Penal law but also encompassed Judicial Review, Civil Procedure, and State Structural reform/delay matters. I compiled an in-depth report on the position of mandatory life sentencing in Irish law. The degree to which there is Judicial control for and over the life term of a mandatory-sentence recipient was explored in conjunction with the UK's 'tariff' based system which focuses on the twin-metrics of Judicial & Penal control (White & Delahunty v Ireland).
