After the realisation set in that I would not make it as a footballer (not even at Clyde), I stumbled across a job in Gala Bingo. My first role was checking Bingo tickets and handing out change part time! I eventually moved into the ancient, secret art of Bingo Calling and quickly became your Gran's best friend! After working through the ranks, I left Scotland to move to Nottingham as CRM Manager for Gala Bingo. In that role, I acted as a consultant to the 131 Gala Bingo Clubs up and down UK, helping them with their SMS and DM campaigns. As I grew into my role, I was given more responsibilities, namely looking after customer acquisition activity on a National basis. This included agreeing deals on Groupon and Wowcher, and implementing our own Member Get Member scheme on a National basis. After success in this area, I was entrusted with the company wide New Members CRM Programme ensuring that this programme is fit for purpose and helps our New Members Conversion rate (which it does!) During my time with the CRM Team, I've helped build and design our CRM and Membership System which is used Centrally and within all of our Clubs. Due to the success and knowledge of the system, I am now part of the working party for Buzz Bingo's CRM Phase 2 project, despite moving away from the CRM Team. I've also developed my Marketing skills by completing the CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing and Level 6 Marketing Diploma, both with a merit award. Since then, I have relocated back to Scotland, mainly to work on my tan, but also to take up a new role as Marketing Business Partner for Scotland and North East England. During that time, I have helped rebrand 26 Bingo Clubs and helped Buzz Bingo launch their omni-channel product. I also manage the Regional Marketing and Promotional Plan including budgeting and reporting and analysing the ROI for all activity and campaigns.
