Responsible for testing and modifying COBOL code that ran on an old IBM mainframe to run on a mainframe emulator called OpenFrame which was running on unix. Converted Batch code in JCLs to unix script (Bash shell). Also responsible for writing C code to enable COBOL code on OpenFrame to call C# code running on unix. Managed a collection of Windows servers running critical infrastructure services such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Security Certificates and Patching. Set up and configured a new backup system (Unitrends) to back up and archive 20+ shares, 100+ virtual machines and 30+ physical machines running a variety of operating systems. Freeport lead for the migration of the Gentran (EDI) system from the servers in Freeport, IL to the servers in Tempe, AZ. Redesigned the process for price updates saving one weeks worth of labor every six months and improving the overall accuracy of the process. Maintained the Automotive EDI system software, maps and trading partners.
