Signage design consultation & implementation planning of 1000 retail stores

The Brief : From landing in Doha Jan 20th 2013 I was tasked (with the help of an excellent designer) to rebrand 24 retail sites and x2 Hq's by the 31st March with 14 priority sites to be completed by the 11th March. The Crunch : No guidelines - No Look and Feel - No finalised name just a brand tool kit with an alternative name that had the same characters as the name to be released on the 25th Feb and a complicated multi tier approval process. I had to ask the 2 Largest sign companies in Doha to work as a collaboration to meet deadlines.To add complications to the mix we could not obtain purchase orders - 50% payments and municipality permits ( planning consent) that were the signage companies business terms.From being supplied a base design I designed a layout that could be adapted for a quick name application and worked on the layouts with the designer. I carried out site audits (surveys) - prototyping and client liaison for sign off. Co-ordination of the sign companies manufacture and time line structuring based on the clients expectations of priority. Quality control / environmental elements and health and safety were of a major concern and educating the sign suppliers was needed.All in all in I signed up for 9 weeks at 5days a week 10 hours and day which turned into almost 7 days a week @ between 60 and 95 hours a week with an extra week extension.Overall this project was very demanding and very also rewarding, great team and good support.Looking forwarded to the being invited to the next big project in May after a well deserved break.

I formed this company after a successfully completed rebrand project for Devere Hotels as an independant signage consultant.The signs where purposely designed for each 5* hotel and where made from slate, granite and stainless steel.From main entrances signs to individual monolith directory signs as well as bespoke restaurant signs.We now have a satellite office in London with a manufacturing workshop based in Kent.Specialist signage projects undertaken and project managed by IHSC ltd.Using the latest in computer technology we produce corporate and commercial signage to the highest standards. my first role at Principle was to collate world wide surveys and create visuals from the Signage Brand Specification for At&t Rebrand. Using my extensive knowledge of the sites I worked on I then became one of the project managers.We organised signage production - delivery and Installation to 64 sites in 32 countries.
