Arc Biodiversity and Climate is a UK consulting team based in the Isle of Wight UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, specialising in enhancing communities, economies and ecosystems. We provide advice, training and mentoring, technical services, and research collaboration to the public, private and voluntary sectors, working at any scale to deliver sustainable and resilient change. We support organizations through the life-cycle of their projects; from a first concept, bid or proposal through to long-term delivery and legacy. Arc Biodiversity and Climate provides services to a wide range of clients including overseas governments and local councils in the UK, asset managers, housebuilders and environmental regulators. Arc advises on ecosystem services, environmental performance, ecological health, and community wellbeing to create better and more sustainable places, for people, business and wildlife. Arc’s purpose is the reconnection of human society with its natural environment and its framework for delivery is called Shaping Better Places. At its core, Arc uses ecological principles to protect and enhance human society, reducing demands on public health services and creating resilient environments for living and working.

The Common Space is an Isle of Wight non-profit dedicated to the re-imagining and re-utilization of public land and public buildings, keeping them public and finding new ways to deliver benefit to communities. I headed up the environmental consultancy section - EcIA, ES, protected species/protected habitats, landscape+visual, mitigation and enhancement strategy. But also helped clients with public consultation, 'community interest', CSR and all interface with LPAs, regional agencies and regulators and public/voluntary sector interests.

I ran the Island 2000 Trust for ten years, delivering environmental, community, educational and public arts projects across the Isle of Wight. I now work part time for the Trust in the same capacity whilst concentrating on managing the environmental consulting section of its new trading arm Natural Enterprise which is the source of primary funds for the parent charity's continuing social and environmental delivery.

I managed a team delivering EcIA, ES, protected species/habitats work. My own specialisms are in terrestrial invertebrates (particularly Hymenoptera and Hemiptera), birds and flowering plants.

I managed the landscape, heritage and community programmes of the AONB in partnership with local and regional partners.
