Ian Sutton has a combined background in geology, hydrogeology, and WASH. This enables him to implement a multi-faceted approach to all projects. For example, the implementation of a sustainable water supply relies as much on user/manager engagement as it does on having both the geological knowledge to assess resource potential, and hydrogeological knowledge to predict long term abstraction effects.Ian works with a variety of clients including mining companies, consultancies, not-for-profit groups, and water utilities. His passion is for constantly obtaining and transferring new skills to others; bridging the gap between scientific research and practitioner requirements. The importance of combining sound technical knowledge built from years of experience with the ‘soft’ skills required to effectively train others cannot be understated. Ian adopts an approach that engages and trains beneficiary staff at every opportunity.
