I am routinely retained by Canadian and multinational clients seeking competition compliance advice or involved in antitrust investigations. I focus on high-stakes, contentious competition issues, including mergers, criminal cartels, abuses of dominance, false and misleading advertising claims, and competition class actions. I help clients navigate complex regulatory investigations, advocating before courts and administrative agencies on their behalf.Previously, I was counsel to Canada’s Commissioner of Competition, leading one of the few litigated merger cases the agency has brought.I often speak at conferences both in Canada and internationally, and publish frequently, including having co-authored the book Witness Preparation: A Practical Guide with Supreme Court of Canada Justice Thomas Cromwell and Bryan Finlay Q.C. and am the Editor of Litigating Competition Law in Canada, the only Canadian textbook dedicated to this topic.
