Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Nov 2024 - Present

Knowledge Bank Specialist

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

As I moved into my new role, I focused on the KM content and all the places it is available and accessible for the firm lawyers. I continued to support the KM Lawyers in their work, while also maintaining the content and best practices in Knowledge Bank, and KB Admin, in our search engine, the Clause Library, and our improved intranet. I created governance for publishing news from the KM Team, as well as maintaining content for the KM Lawyers on the new Knowledge Hubs. I assisted our French Translators as a subject matter expert for translating our intranet, search engine, and Knowledge Bank, as well as helping to test the changes to UI in WebLinks Admin.I facilitated the re-design of the KM Team's content collections in the DMS (similar to the update we had made to our administrative content in the DMS in 2018); we migrated our content in early 2024. I expanded on my work with quarterly analytics to prepare several annual reports with high-level data visualization and analysis for leadership. I helped conduct an environmental scan to find emerging technology as a replacement for our current Clause Library. As well, I had the opportunity to learn and expand my skills with Generative AI such as ChatGPT.

Jun 2023 - Nov 2024

Intranet & Knowledge Bank Coordinator

Greater Toronto Area, Canada

To facilitate the firm's intranet redesign and content migration to SharePoint Online, I took on new responsibilities in addition to my QA responsibilities for the KM Team's Knowledge Bank content. After launching our search engine and the new Knowledge Bank in 2020, I focused on reviewing and preparing the firm's intranet content. I led monthly meetings with the Content Committee who consisted of representatives from different departments across the firm, conducted a content audit, and developed a metadata schema with an improved taxonomy system. I collaborated with the Intranet Design Team, vendors, and consultants to create a variety of wireframes and MVP requirements. As the subject matter expert, I presented my findings to leadership on the content management best practices. I assisted with the UAT, and content migration. Additionally, I worked closely with the Intranet Publishing Team (BenTeam) to post new content and updates.Throughout this time, the KM Team also adopted Asana for Project Management. Some other projects I worked on during these years include: (1) assisting Library with updating their WebLinks Admin Database; (2) updating KM's Clause Library; (3) moving our metrics to Power BI Dashboards; (4) implementing UI enhancements and taxonomy updates to KB Admin.

Jan 2020 - Jun 2023

Knowledge Management Content Coordinator

Toronto, Canada Area

In this role, I coordinated the KM content to ensure the firm lawyers were able to access the materials they needed in the Knowledge Bank, such as legal precedents, research memos, clauses, and presentations. I maintained this material in the firm's search engine, in the Knowledge Bank, and in our Clause Library. I supported the KM Lawyers by publishing their content and updating precedent pages for the practice groups with new content. In 2019, I worked closely with developers in the IT department to create a new admin dashboard for the Knowledge Bank (KB Admin), and an update to the firm's search engine, which we launched in 2020 after months of testing and QA. Throughout this time, I facilitated a content audit to ensure we were migrating relevant content to the new database, and archiving outdated content. I tested the new system and mitigated technical issues to IT using Jira as a ticketing system; afterwards I led the UAT for the KM Team. I developed a training program for the new KB Admin to introduce the KM Lawyers and KM Publishers to the new KB Admin; additionally, I created governance protocols and best practices to maintain the content lifecycle. I reported on content usage analytics on a quarterly basis for the KM Team, after creating a new metrics template. During this time, I also conducted a project to migrate the KM Team's administrative materials in our DMS collection to a new workspace, and reorganize our workspace structure for easier findability.

At the library, I helped students, faculty and other researchers with their queries at the reference desk. When not helping with circulation or reference questions, I worked on a special project regarding research data management (RDM) standards and policies, where I conducted an environmental scan of the current Canadian RDM practices in institutions, including publishers and vendors, repositories, and funding agencies, with the purpose of supporting researchers at U of T. I also have been trained at the circulation desk.In the summer of 2018, I continued working at Noranda at the circulation desk as a Student Library Assistant.

Innovation Hub Assistant, Implementation Leader

Greater Toronto Area, Canada

The Innovation Hub in Student Life works to improve student life and student community at the University of Toronto through research, design thinking and collaboration. In the summer of 2017, the work-study team at the Hub strove to implement projects and bring them to life for students in five previously-identified domains ("Big Ideas") of student life. From May to August 2017, I was a work-study student at the Hub in the role of Implementation Lead, where I attended workshops and learned about integrative and design thinking. I also worked as a researcher for two of the five Big Ideas. In August 2017, I began working as an Innovation Hub Assistant for the academic 2017-2018 year. I have participated in training workshops on integrative and design thinking, and starting in October of 2017 I became a team lead for two teams of volunteers. We conducted a feasibility analysis for how the Big Ideas could potentially "come to life" at U of T. I, along with the two other team leads for the Big Ideas Teams, worked closely with volunteer prototypers to conduct rapid data collection and minimal viable products in order to determine our recommended design principles for these projects. We presented our findings to senior administration in April 2018.
