Developing RNA therapeutics for protein upregulation to address unmet medical needs in neurodegenerative rare diseases. • Led cross‑functional and international/collaborative R&D projects focusing on the implementation of Tropic’s proprietary technology. GEiGS® (Gene Editing‑induced Gene Silencing) uses universal gene editing tools such as CRISPR, to minimally edit the host’s own non-coding genes and redirect their silencing activity (RNAi) towards any desired target gene or gene family.• Presented complex scientific data whilst navigating ambiguity to internal and external stakeholders, including academic KOLs and executive management team.• Successfully leveraged communication and presentation skills to achieve goal and strategy alignment across different levels of management during project sign‑offs.• Designed scientific and troubleshooting strategies, experimental plans and gantt charts; performed project risk assessments and drafted patent applications.• Worked in partnership with project managers to ensure milestone delivery on time and on budget.• Responsible for the recruitment, onboarding, line management, SMART goal setting, performance reviews, training, direct supervision, and career progression strategy of laboratory technicians.• Established technical pipelines and created SOPs and process maps, ensuring Excellence Through Stewardship (ETS)‑compliant practices across the processes.• Technical skills: Precise genome editing via HDR (CRISPR‑based), high‑throughput genotyping, interpretation of ambiguous and complex editing outputs, sRNA biology techniques, vector design, molecular cloning, plant transformation, bioassay development, stem‑loop qRT‑PCR.

• Designed and performed experiments, and managed scientific collaborations with other academic groups.• Worked in close collaboration with KOLs from the clinical and surgery teams at the Heart Institute, leveraging their expertise and gathering input for projects and experiments.• Collected and processed human cardiac samples from transplants at any time required, in accordance to ethical and clinical regulations, and biosafety protocols.Technical skills: microRNA extraction from human and murine cardiac tissue; qRT-PCR; TaqMan Low Density Arrays (TLDA) for high throughput microRNA expression analysis; Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA); collection and processing of human cardiac samples.
