Xlate Migration: Management Infrastructure team is responsible for providing infrastructure to develop commands for the switch features. Xlate framework is used to display the switch configuration. The goal of the project is to make the framework easy to add new commands and save the developer time. Contribution:- Lead the activity of Xlate migration.- Migrated switch CLI commands to use new xlate framework.- Responsible for delivery of xlate migration to PSR.- Actively contributed to fixing of the PRs in LACP, SNMP, stacking L2/L3 features etc. - Fixing of workarounds/hacks in CLI module.- Giving inputs to the config team on the design of the interfaces.- Responsible for reviews triaging. Instant Messaging migration to Symbian^4:Contribution:- Designing and developing the home screen widget which included getting the UX requirements from UX team, estimation of timelines etc., - Gathering the requirements from various stake holders, creating design documents, planning the tasks etc.,- Writing Qt interfaces to the instant messaging client.- Part of the design and code review team. Platform and language: Symbian^4, Qt on Symbian, C++ Duration of the project: November 2009 to July 2010.Content Delivery system: The OZ CDS server is a server that provides the client applications with the different required resources to display an up-to-date, operator branded user interface to the users. It will typically be used to check for updates and fetch images, sounds, configuration files, help files, etc. The resources returned by the server can be specific to the client id, operator name, etc. This was for the Nokia-Oz instant messaging application.Contribution:- Gathering the requirements, creating design documents, defining APIs.- Designed and implemented the client to fetch resources from CDS server/MMSC. - Designed and implemented caching of resources and mechanism to support checking for new updates at MMSC.- Localization support for the client. Messaging convergence: MeCo is a Protocol agnostic conversational messaging application with IM and Presence capability. The idea is to be able to add new service with new protocol adaptation and it is possible to use the services separately not dependent on each other. MeCo project implementation involves openC as well as Symbian-s60. This project uses the open source components such as libtelepathy as a framework, dbus, telepathy-gabble, and loudmouth for xmpp protocol. Isolation server is a component that isolates the open source components from Symbian components. Contribution:- Designed and implemented the Isolation server. Implementation included writing module and unit test cases.- Porting of telepathy gabble 0.6.2 and libtelepathy to Symbian.- Involved in design and implementation of adaptation for Ximp.- Implementation of XMPP xep 0055 – Jabber search at isolation layer- Implementation of xep 0153 – vCard-Based avatars in telepathy gabble and libtelepathy. - Also lead a team of five for the implementation of avatars for the MeCo project. The responsibility included estimation of timelines, communicating with different stake holders and developers to get the job done. Multimedia Messaging Service: Designing and implementing the Multimedia Messaging Service, client side application over Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) on Palm OS. - Worked on MMS Application, wherein had an opportunity to redesign and restructure the MMS Code to make it more efficient. Worked on most of the MMS Features that include: - Composing a message, Sending/Receiving of a MMS, multiple profile support for MMS and handling of delivery/read reports, SMIL Presentations in MMS, Parsing MMS PDUs and Creating MMS PDU for sending on the network, Storing and retrieving of MMS to/from File System.- All the MMS Applications Interfaces were designed and coded on Palm OS and MMS Design is Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Complaint.Contribution:- Designed and implemented the background task which performs the task of sending and receiving of MMS.- Designed and implemented the retry schema when a MMS sending/receiving fails.- Have worked on creating and parsing a PDU.- Designed and implemented SMIL module. SMIL module is the one which handles the presentation of the MMS.- Design and implementing of the DRM feature, which would enable the MMS application to handle the DRM protected messages.- Implemented the user interface for MMS Client side application on Palm, which involved UI designing and event handling.- Writing unit test cases, functional test cases for MMI interface calls, storage manager, file system, parser, SMIL.Platform and language: C on Palm / Nucleus, Linux Duration of the project: July 2004 –March 2006
