Messaging convergence: MeCo is a Protocol agnostic conversational messaging application with IM and Presence capability. The idea is to be able to add new service with new protocol adaptation and it is possible to use the services separately not dependent on each other. MeCo project implementation involves openC as well as Symbian-s60. This project uses the open source components such as libtelepathy as a framework, dbus, telepathy-gabble, and loudmouth for xmpp protocol. Isolation server is a component that isolates the open source components from Symbian components. Contribution:- Designed and implemented the Isolation server. Implementation included writing module and unit test cases.- Porting of telepathy gabble 0.6.2 and libtelepathy to Symbian.- Involved in design and implementation of adaptation for Ximp.- Implementation of XMPP xep 0055 – Jabber search at isolation layer- Implementation of xep 0153 – vCard-Based avatars in telepathy gabble and libtelepathy. - Also lead a team of five for the implementation of avatars for the MeCo project. The responsibility included estimation of timelines, communicating with different stake holders and developers to get the job done. SMIL module is the one which handles the presentation of the MMS.- Design and implementing of the DRM feature, which would enable the MMS application to handle the DRM protected messages.- Implemented the user interface for MMS Client side application on Palm, which involved UI designing and event handling.- Writing unit test cases, functional test cases for MMI interface calls, storage manager, file system, parser, SMIL.Platform and language: C on Palm / Nucleus, Linux Duration of the project: July 2004 –March 2006
