I am looking for an exciting hands-on career with a large positive impact, and find self-actualization in good engineering design, implementation, and pushing the envelope. Product design, human centered design, and design thinking interest me greatly. I always want to be learning and love to be creative. As a Concept Engineer at Milwaukee Tool, I work on the leading edge of new product innovation, anything from 5 months - 5 years out. I help uncover unmet user needs, participating in local and regional field research and the user centered design process. As a part of the front-end innovation team, I help ideate creative ways to solve the insights from the field, and act as the technical expert in the creation and execution of the ideas into concepts. This typically takes the form of developing rapid prototypes ranging from low fidelity to looks-like/works-like.Through my work at the Scientific Art Studio, I’ve gotten my hands dirty welding, 3D printing, concrete casting, CNC milling (CAM software and G-Code) and more, helping to design, fabricate and install the exhibits, themed environments, and immersive playgrounds they are known for around the world. I've worked with engineers, designers, and architects to gain skills in 3D CAD drawing and GD&T using many solid-modeling software including and especially Solidworks and AutoCAD. I worked independently and wrote in-depth technical manuals for their machining tools for use, automation, proper care, and troubleshooting for all members of the studio, saving time, and increasing productivity.During my senior year of university, I participated in a university/industry design program on a real-world project for Caterpillar. Starting from scratch, our team of engineers designed, prototyped, and built a complex, automated wire measuring and winding device. It gave me ample experience in design for manufacturability, testing, and engineering analysis, using tools like FEA, Matlab & PLC programming, and pneumatic, hydraulic, and actuator mechatronics, all with product lifecycle management in mind.I was also the Vice President of the University of Arizona’s Rube Goldberg Club. I helped manage a group of interdisciplinary engineering students design and build a complex mechanical machine for a national, annual contest. The nature of a Rube Goldberg machine demanded that our interdisciplinary team be organized, efficient, collaborative, and able to communicate well because each step is completely dependent on all of the steps before it.Mechanical Engineer · Concept Engineer · Product Design Engineer
