About Bill Y

One of my particular strengths is team working, which has delivered effective relationships with both industry and the wider customer community; this has assisted maintaining my strong customer focus. With over 25 years’ experience of engineering and management covering:Electrical Design and Installation, Physical and Electronic Security Systems – Large and Complex Sites CCTV, Perimeter (PIDS) and Building IDS Security System Integration Projects, Nuclear Safety Design (EMC/Communications) and Safety Case Reviews, Electronic Warfare Development (Type 45 Destroyer programme) to more recently the development of Estate & Infrastructure (DIO) business including supporting the integration of the MIS and Asset Management Systems. During London 2012, I was supporting a Government Department, as a Project Manager for a infrastructure project. I had to undertake detailed stakeholder analysis and overseen the capture of business, technical requirements, management of the day-shift installation team and the successful delivery of the project.Currently I am working as the Lead Commissioning Engineer (covering both Engineering & Project Management) within the Japanese Earthquake Response (JER) Programme on the Continuous Emergency Monitoring System Project. This involves the design and installation at each power station site of a system that will provide a real-time display of key plant parameters located in multiple locations both on and off site to facilitate severe accident management decision making in the hours following a Beyond Design Basis (BDB) event including station blackout utilising such communications technology as Satellite communications and RF as a risk mitigation measure to aid decision making in a BDB event. Working closely with the ONR on this hybrid (IT/Satellite/EC&I) project to deliver successful installations across the AGR fleet.
