About Ifan Jones

I’m an experienced journalist, author and academic. I’m currently the Senior Editor at Newyddion S4C’s digital news service. Previous I was Journalism course leader and academic director of marketing and recruitment at Bangor University’s College of Humanities and Business, teaching Practical Digital Journalism; Ethics, Law and Democracy in Journalism; Journalism History; Public Relations; and Sociology and the Media. I am the founder and former editorial director of the news site Nation Cymru which by the end of my tenure was reaching an audience of over 1m visitors a month. I am the author of five novels, one of which won the Welsh Book of the Year award in 2020, and another of which won the Daniel Owen award at the Cardiff National Eisteddfod in 2008. I have a PhD from Bangor University.Rwy'n newyddiadurwr, awdur ac academydd profiadol. Ar hyn o bryd fi yw Uwch Olygydd gwasanaeth newyddion digidol Newyddion S4C.
