CMRR was a ~ $6 Billion project to build a replacement nuclear facility at LANL. The project was put on hold due to President Obama's 2012 budget.Deployed into the CMRR project, Jim worked with multiple departments such as Engineering, Construction, QA, HR, Training, Procurement, Project Management, Facilities and others to perform Six Sigma methodologies on certain business processes with the intent to deliver a revised process that positively impacted schedule, cost and quality. Many of these deliverables went into an automation system that he managed and advanced through custom development. Notable deliverables include automation of Nonconformance Reporting and Corrective Action.Due to the complexity of process such as Corrective Action Jim had to develop novel and highly engineered dynamic Adobe PDF documents that include significant code enhancements – unique in all of LANL. Through careful engineering he also successfully placed into production in the automated workflow tool ProjectWise (a Bentley application) the Nonconformance Reporting process – a feat attempted by other projects across the globe using ProjectWise but ultimately abandoned due to the complexities of the process.Jim is trained as a Six Sigma Yellow Belt and is a LANL Certified Instructor. During many lunch hours he offers learning sessions for project employees on software tools such as Excel, Word, Outlook and other software applications used in the project. He has also been the captain of several health/exercise competitions at LANL.Notable accomplishments: • Project Management role to scope and deliver expansion capabilities to the automated workflow tool – unique features found nowhere else and considered to have significant value to LANL and the software manufacturer• Successful delivery into production of complex processes that have been attempted and failed at other locations
