About Iftikhar Khan
A motivated and focused individual, who is passionate about research and teaching, seeking out new challenges.As a researcher my area of interest is nanoscale drug delivery, and at present pulmonary drug delivery. Currently I am concluding research surrounding novel dry formulations of Liposomes (lipid vesicles used in drug delivery) in the treatment of pulmonary diseases. Through the course of investigation I have developed two novel methods; one, for the production of liposomes, the second, a separation technique which has disproved a heavy body of data surrounding liposomes with a given entrapped drugs (Khan et al., 2015). Whilst currently my research focus is upon Liposomes, I have accrued substantial experience in pharmaceutics, through research, industrial work and teaching on a number of pharmaceutics modules. I am greatly fascinated by nanotechnology, which I believe that there remains immense potential in the number of applications in enhancing patient pharmaceutical care, from a practice perspective. The culmination of knowledge surrounding nanotechnology, drug delivery and pharmaceutics in general is a multifaceted approach; which I am passionate will yield better medical and pharmaceutical research outcomes.
