Design ResearcherAmerican Bar Association May 2017 - Aug 2017Co-facilitated a multidisciplinary team in generating concepts for a multilingual communication device for police to translate Miranda Rights so that a bridge could begin to build between police and non-English speaking communities in New Orleans.We prototyped concepts with police officers, lawyers, judges, and non-profit groups moving our focus toward a low-fidelity solution that could be mass-produced and could withstand officers’ day-to-day grind while being an effective translation device. Designed a physical Miranda Rights card with text and visual cues for comprehension, though, we recognize this would be the first stage in a future series of solutions.
