Dr. Ignacio Valencia is a highly accomplished pediatric neurologist with a comprehensive educational background that includes an M.D. from Rosario University in Colombia and extensive postgraduate training in adult and child neurology, neurophysiology, and epilepsy. He has completed residencies at notable institutions such as Hahnemann University Hospital and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, along with fellowships at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Valencia has held various academic appointments at Drexel University College of Medicine, progressively advancing from Instructor to Professor, while also serving in multiple leadership roles, including Director of the Child Neurology Fellowship Training Program at St. Christopher’s Hospital and Chief of the Section of Neurology.Dr. Valencia is board certified in neurology, child neurology, epilepsy, and sleep medicine, and actively participates in professional organizations such as the American Epilepsy Society and the Child Neurology Society. His clinical responsibilities include overseeing EEG interpretations and managing pediatric patients with neurological disorders. He has received numerous awards for his research and teaching contributions, including the Golden Apple Award for excellence in teaching. Currently, he serves as the Division Head of Pediatric Neurology and Developmental Pediatrics at Cooper University Hospital.
