For as long as I can remember, I've had a consistent background channel in my mind dedicated to numbers, pattern recognition, and mathematical expressions. My interest in data analytics arose out of an understanding that there is order and predictability to everything, even randomness.Early in my undergraduate statistics education, I discovered a passion for programming, especially in R. While still a student, I developed my R coding skills by writing dozens of functions for various side projects. I also worked as a teaching assistant for introductory ANOVA and regression classes. In addition to instructing students and helping them build their programming skillset, I was responsible for reviewing and editing code for the professor before it was used in class.I decided to pursue a Master's Degree in Analytics because I wanted to hone skills that I used during my undergrad—such as model building techniques and programming in Python—and to learn about and utilize new tools like AWS and Tableau. I look forward to opportunities to continue using my talent for data analytics, in the workforce and in my free time.Speaking of free time: if I'm not programming, you might find me solving one of my 23 Rubik's cubes or going for a joyride around town on my unicycle (and occasionally both of those at the same time).
