Responsible for managing multiple work teams in a fast paced, high volume unionized manufacturing environment. Responsible for coordinating daily activities to achieve business metrics and implementing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) tools and processes as it relates to material flow. As the Material Area Supervisor, I am required to create and develop highly functioning teams, make tough calls and act quickly and decisively while holding themselves and others accountable.Managed and supervised 50 powered industrial truck drivers throughout the facilityDesignated Kaizen lead for the facility; developed and took action to achieve an aggressive cost-expense improvement program saving the company a total of $465,000 over the course of one yearIdentifies trends in material supply levels and determines if action is required to prevent potential problems or work stoppages.Developed improvement plans to reduce cost of material movement in facility; observed workflow, analyzed process, tracked parts path through facility, re-routed parts entry into facility to reduce time spent in transit from receiving to storage location.Trained drivers on transit routes in facility to reduce timePoint of contact for parts vendors on any issues; quality, spec variances, delivery, etc.Managed the continual flow of all components to multiple division locations to assure their un-interrupted operationCoordinated with customers on items that become critically short and took aggressive action to eliminate shortage through expedite actions to supply source, local manufacture or local purchase.
