We strive to educate people about our culture and create a safe space for expression, learning, and fun, through food, dance, and education.

DSA was recognized as the org with the most growth at last year's "Noche de Gala" by HSA, and my team and I are doing everything we can to continue this growth and maintain this Latine safe haven we're creating. As PR Director, I focused on maintaining a steady and positive relationship with our general body members, as well as other affiliated orgs at within and outside of HSA at UF. This was my favorite involvement during my second year, as I met so many amazing people and made so many amazing friends. I always did my best to bring the best to every event and to make everyone feel like they’re at home. DSA won Best Affiliate Org at Noche de Gala 2022, and we put on the most extravagant and detailed events every single time. I am so proud of DSA, so proud of everything we accomplished as a team, there are simply no words to describe the impact this position had on my life in every way. I am not someone who identifies as Dominican, and before DSA I really struggled to find my place at UF, but DSA showed me, and so many other people, that they have a home no matter where they go. I was the only non-dominican in the e-board last year, and this year the e-board is so much bigger and more diverse than ever before. The Active Learning Program is an internship offered here at UF that partners with many organizations - I was selected to be this upcoming school year's intern for "Children Beyond Our Borders" (CBOB). I will be leading the "Triunfadores Parent Academy" program, where I will do everything I can to find volunteer mentors and tutors for high school students. We're confident that our services will offer the services and support necessary to inspire more of our youth to go to college! We're confident that our services will offer the services and support necessary to inspire more of our youth to go to college! My time at this organization was cut short, as we organized a whole program but due to low attendance, it was cut. Nonetheless, alongside my co-intern Ana Sofia Guillioli, we worked so hard and became so much stronger during the planning process of organizing this program.
