My main task is to execute short-term planning of industrial inspections for activities not prohibited by the Chemical Weapons Convention. I supervise inspectors teams on technical challenges as well as treaty-related and policy issues, in addition to review the inspection reports for a broad type of chemical processes and industry worldwide.Extra responsibilities are to participate in on-site inspections, to review the Risk Assessment for different plant sites, meeting with the inspected State Party representatives to resolve issues requiring further attention, as well as selecting plant sites for the medium term inspection plan and preparing the yearly inspection plan.

High Temperature Hydrodynamics of Chemical Looping for Biomass Gasification.Project consists of a combination of experimental and process simulation work to improve process design and operation. An Aspen Plus model for biomass gasification incorporating the use of oxygen carriers as catalytic active bed material is developed. As for the experimental work, one streamline is focused on the fundamental understanding of the hydrodynamics of gas-solids fluidized beds at elevated temperatures. A second experimental research line covers the catalytic activity of different oxygen carriers for tar reduction in biomass gasification. Additional activities include guiding Master Students during the graduation project and giving support in tutorials for different lectures, and writing research papers and abstract for conferences.

My main responsibility was to lead technical projects for DuPont’s customers in Latin America. Major projects were on Continuous Improvement, process optimization, control of polymerization reactors and solids handling. All projects were run under SixSigma Methodology. I got DuPont’s Black Belt Certification in 2011. Besides, I was responsible for writing technical report and presenting results to customer’s high level leadership.As for Technical Marketing, I lead the yearly benchmark assessment of architectural coatings in Mexico and presented the results to main DuPont’s customers. I was also responsible of DuPont’s Global Architectural Technology Team which developed technical marketing tools, and assessed global tendencies in architectural coatings.

Run pilot scale trials of alkyds and emulsion polymerization reactors, and in collaboration with the main researcher, define the mixing and cooling policies for the scale up to industrial tests.Improvements of alkyds production plant, including the assessment of cycle time production. The project achieved a 25% cycle time reduction and 35% throughput increase.Collaborating in the implementation of a new online viscosity estimation for the control of reaction time of alkyds reactors, batch-to-batch variations were decreased in 45%.
