Ilham Aslanov is CEO of SOCAR ITC the one of the largest IT company of Azerbaijan Republic with 1000+ number of employees. SOCAR ITC is the division of SOCAR responsible for the entire technology support of the company. Accordingly, in the role of leader of SOCAR ITC, Ilham is also acting as CIO for SOCAR.In the middle of the two thousandth SOCAR started ambitious program on transformation of this the largest company in Azerbaijan into modern vertically-integrated holding. The program was around migration from old soviet-type managed organization to modern corporate using best international practices. Joined SOCAR back in 2006 Ilham immediately become one of the key person in of this transformation program. In particular Ilham was responsible for all aspects of “automation and digital” components of the program. In this role Ilham was responsible for many tasks starting form development of SOCAR IT strategy, ending with SAP implementation, development required corporate IT infrastructure and hiring and development of IT personnel. Prior to joining SOCAR Ilham occupied position of Principal Consultant at CARANA corporation (2002-2007). In this role Ilham was primarily responsible for the project around automation of “State Treasury Information Management System” for Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan Republic. The project was supported by USAID and World Bank.This project was Gold winner of SAP Quality Award in CIS countries. The project helped Government and Ministry of Finance in particular to more efficient management of state budget, increased transparency and better risk management. During the period of 2001-2002 Ilham occupied position of CIO of Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan Republic. Here Ilham participated in transformation of Election system based on the best international practices. The project was supported by EU.From 1998 till 2001 Ilham hold position of CIO of Azerbaijan Stock Exchange.During the period of 1993-1998 Ilham occupied position of technician/technologist Russia/Gazprom/YGD/SBS
