I provide an award-winning customer service experience to the public, providing a resolution at the first point of every contact and opportunities that enrich the lives of residents throughout the borough. I am the Libraries Autism champion; It helps support autistic colleagues and residents, this knowledge helps us create a welcoming and inclusive environment. Liaising with other departments; Scanning documents over to Housing benefit, Council tax and signposting stakeholders, customers, colleagues to relevant departments, escalating to management if required, and de-escalating complaints. Consistently dealing with library issues/queries, issuing and returning books, reservations, parking permits and events I manage volunteers in libraries, I am helping the council with one of its main objectives, by ‘Bringing members of the public into employment’ I manage the promotion of events, manage the events and then advertise the event sharing the successful turnout to encourage more people from our local community to get involved. I’ve even built relationships with other local community outlets so they can help with promotion. Summer reading challenge happens every summer, Targeting children as a potential audience. This event encourages children to read more, to win prizes, it helps their families get involved also. During this time, I run school assemblies, events, arranged posters for volunteering opportunities, and work around workload to meet deadlines.
