With years of experience in urban planning, community development and community engagement, I am passionate about working with communities and regions to help foster equitable and sustainable communities. I have worked on a variety of projects related to equity, engagement plans, land use, zoning, environmental reviews, and public outreach to help communities and regions meet their goals and needs. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences as a bilingual and bicultural professional.I am driven and passionate about working with community members, local agencies and relevant stakeholders to encourage the development of equitable and sustainable communities for the residents and businesses I work with. In my city planning roles, I have had the opportunity to enhance my urban planning skills in interpreting city code in English and Spanish, providing excellent bilingual communication to the general public, reviewing and providing constructive comments on various development plans and building permits, as well as fostering transparent internal and external communication to meet our goals. Furthermore, I have experience reviewing and analyzing planning development applications, building permits for planning review, preparing staff reports and presentations, conducting research for local policies, as well as reviewing state legislation to provide internal departments and the public with the most up-to-date legislative information. In my community engagement roles, I managed and supported a variety of projects throughout California, conducted extensive research for various studies, provided grant writing support for local, state and federal funding and developed public engagement project materials, as well as public-facing materials such as outreach summary reports and staff reports. Through my community engagement roles I have been able to create and deliver effective and engaging project materials to engage with the communities I work with to ensure they understand and provide constructive feedback on decisions and projects impacting their community.
