As a Certified Peer Support Specialist with both MedMark Treatment Centers and Kooth, I bring a unique blend of professional training and personal experience to my work. At MedMark, I work closely with healthcare teams to ensure clients receive holistic, compassionate care, showcasing strong teamwork and collaboration skills. I also produce a resource-filled newsletter for MedMark in Solano County, connecting community members to essential services and support networks. In my work with Kooth, I support youth by using coaching techniques, goal-setting strategies, and practical coping skills to guide them in their mental health journeys, creating a safe and empowering environment where they can build resilience and manage stress. My commitment to teaching and tutoring is demonstrated through my role with NAMI, where I lead educational workshops and Family-to-Family classes to help individuals and families understand mental health resources and develop effective coping strategies. Public speaking is a core part of my role, as I participate in outreach events to reduce stigma and increase mental health awareness, sharing my personal experiences through local partnerships. My approach centers on compassionate, non-judgmental communication, especially in crisis situations, drawing on my own mental health journey to build trust and provide meaningful support. Additionally, I volunteer with the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and run a nonprofit called Keem's Dream in honor of my son, Hakeem Musleh, giving back to the community and offering support to those facing similar challenges. My personal journey has equipped me with deep empathy and resilience, qualities I strive to instill in others as they navigate their own paths.
