As a senior member of staff, I held many responsibilities such as events management- planning such as large-scale weddings, christenings, and Christmas events. This required excellent organization and communication skills with suppliers and customers to ensure perfection in all elements of the business. I also ran the social media and advertising of events, developing my creative skills and technological skills with the advanced use of Canva. My skills in administration and Excel developed as I was in charge of staff rotas, invoicing and stock takes, integral elements to keep the business running smoothly. I learned to work in a team and as the team leader, adapt my skills to suit the environment. I was also tasked with recruiting and disciplining staff whilst managing the restaurant to the highest standard.

During my final year at university I was scouted to edit a start-up companies website for a marketing consultancy. I was able to help the company create an engaging and informative website whilst proofreading and editing grammatical errors before going live with the website. This enabled me to develop creative skills and a deeper understanding of the necessity of editing and proofreading work sparking my interest in the editing process.
