30+ years of experience in teaching, developing, managing, planning, and implementing informationsolutions to facilitate corporate growth and providing business solutions for small to larger corporates both off-shore and on-shore. With a strong research orientation and extensive mathematical knowledge, I quickly transformed and channeled these talents to take a fledgling IT start-up Tathya in 1999 to a 300+ people organization within much less than a decade. Understanding complex business situations, breaking them down into their constituent simpler parts and then creating a lasting technology solution has always been my passion. My core strengths have always been architecture, analytics and quickly learning cutting and bleeding edge technologies. Notwithstanding this strength in abstractions, I am also a very down to earth, hands-on programmer at the core of my heart.I am an M.Sc. In Statistics from Calcutta University, India. I briefly pursued Research in non-parametric statistical analysis before getting into the world of professional data and IT solutions consulting.Mentoring – I always played the role of the technology 'guru' wherever I have worked so far,mentoring and advising programmers/statisticians/data analysts in diverse technology and algorithmrelated issues. In-depth knowledge in business and technology – I combine the rare skill of being able to talk toboth business users and the geeks with equal ease and mutual understanding.Hands on Experience – I have always been a programmer. This means I would rather roll up mysleeves and quickly write a piece of code instead of theorizing and arguing for hours.Strong Background in Applied Statistics, Data Modeling and Exploration - My in depthknowledge of statistical methods and practical experience in applying them to real life situations, helps me immensely when dealing with Data Warehousing and Data Mining projects.
