EMM 2.0 is IOM's flagship capacity development programme on migration management• Led the development of IOM’s flagship capacity development programme on migration management, including managing the creation of a Handbook with 30 chapters that synthesize IOM expertise on all areas of migration management. • Co-developed 15 chapters of the Handbook in coordination with policy scholars, United Nations Agencies, IOM experts, and former government officials. Themes: international migration law and human rights; family migration; health; integration and social cohesion; return and reintegration; climate change induced mobility; policy monitoring and evaluation; international cooperation on migration. • Achievement: An IOM Guidance Note that informs overall organisational approach to support for policymaking on migration was based on 7 of the chapters I led. • Co-produced training materials in collaboration with adult learning experts: self-paced online and face-to-face modules, trainer’s guide, participants’ manual, power-point decks and short videos for 7 chapters and for the EMM2.0 ToT; 12 job aids.• Coordinated a training needs assessment, user tests and facilitation of pilot trainings. • Supported liaison with the EMM2.0 Group of Friends, composed of government officials based in Geneva, and the EMM2.0 IOM Advisory Committee.• Supported programme development, monitoring and reporting

The research project, "Atlantic crossings: materiality, contemporary movements and policies of belonging", aims to study a significant dimension of material culture and consumption practices – its ability to frame, organize, and therefore produce, social reality - through the analysis of present-day Atlantic crossing migratory movements between Portugal and Brazil.* Research about material culture and consumption practices among Brazilian residents in the Greater Porto area* Collaboration in survey design, implementation and analysis* Interviews with experts for general theoretical and empirical context of the migratory flows between Portugal and Brazil* Design of databases for 1) the collection of data of visas awarded by consulates to Portuguese as well as 2) the collection of data on media content about the migratory flows between Portugal and Brazil* Conduction of semi-structured interviews and ethnographic observation* Transcription of interviews and content analysis * Design and maintenance of project’s blog as well as both contributing with and editing content* Report writing and conference presentation

The project “From many and varied places to 21st Century Portugal: new opportunities, new patterns in gender, micro-family and inter-ethnic relations” explored the dynamics of female-led migration among segments of African (Cape-Verdean, São Tomean, Guinean), Asian (Filipina) and Latin American (Brazilian) populations in the Greater Lisbon Area. * Conducting the first ethnographic research among a segment of the Filipino population in Portugal;* Literature review on gender and migration as well as on the specific Filipino migratory flows;* Designing, conducting, transcribing and analysing semi-structured interviews;* Presenting findings in an international conference, articles for national and international peer-reviewed publications on the theme of transnational family relationships, the international care chain and gender roles;* Co-writing the final report.
