Design / Construction Part Project Engineer for the proposed new building (5 storied RCC structure) for quarantine station in sea port Colombo (Approx 170Million). Support and carrying out planning and all type of documentation related to the project in compliance with UNOPS organizational directives, Administrative instructions and Project Management Manual. Coordinated all the design related activities from concept design to the construction stage drawings. Handled the IPMG design approval process from A to Z and got the approval in a smooth manner. Coordinated and obtained approvals from the Donor and Client for the final design. Handled local approval process (UDA approval) which included utility approvals, blue green approval, environmental clearance etc. which are mandatory to move to the construction stage.Procurement Part Handled more than 25 procurement processes (to date) including Emergency (EPP), Shopping, RFQ, ITB. Handled the procurement of works contractor for the piling works (substructure) of the current project. Handled several works procurement and contract management part of different projects. Successfully handled an emergency procurement process for the procurement of laboratory items which required HQCPC approval for the award.

 Site Engineer for the New Hospital Building (Approx 275Million) and Remodeling/Renovation works (Approx 340Million). Support and carrying out planning and all type of documentation related to the project in compliance with UNOPS organizational directives, Administrative instructions and Project Management Manual. Working out with quantities, Regular programme/schedule monitoring (Target Vs Achieved) using Project management tools like MS Project and Report to the project manager. Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with contracts, specifications, method statements, drawings and etc. Preparation of weekly, Monthly, Quarterly (Quarterly plans and Status) reports. Prepare technical meeting minutes on site including Coordination, Progress Review, Stakeholder and Special meetings and get them endorsed by PM and relevant parties. Coordinate all type of material approvals (Including imports), shop drawing approvals, method statement approvals and carry out relevant documentation. Support Project manager in drafting Contractual letters, Tracking of project programmes, maintain Risk and Issue logs (In OneUNOPS Projects ERP System), Draft various types of reports etc. Setting out Operational Health and Safety standards at the site incompliance to UNOPS requirements and draft various type of reports (H&S Management plan, SMP, Site Inspection) conducting tool box talks etc. Ensuring QA/QC for all the works, Preparation of Quality Management Plans (QMP), Preparation of Site Instructions, Responding to RFIs, Review of Daily records, Work Approvals by guiding technical officers. Reviewing of bar schedules, Shop drawings, Method Statements, Material Approvals, Construction Schedules, Rate Break Downs and etc.

 Civil Engineer For the 15000m3 Vertical Oil Tank at Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Ltd. Preparing bar schedules, Steel Demands For the 38m Diameter circular Tank. Preparing construction programs using MS Project and updating to the Project Manager. Managing materials, labor, construction equipment etc. at the site.  Attending progress and technical meetings representing contractor. Designing and preparing structural drawings of RCC structures for Tenders. Preparing shop drawings for civil work. Planning, Monitoring and Supervision of All type of civil work at the site. Full responsibility of construction of piled raft foundation (620m3).

* Resident engineer ( Consultants Representative) for the destiny towers ( 42 storied tween towers ) and community housing project ( 2 blocks/ 13 storied each ) located in slave island,city of Colombo, Sri Lanka.* Ensuring quality assurance and quality control for every type of structural and finishing work.* Acting as a coordinator between structural engineer and the contractor.* Coordinating architectural issues with respect to structural work and giving solutions.* Preparing shop drawings on behalf of contractor for approvals.* Giving quick solutions to the quarries raised by contractors.* Providing technical support to the client,contractor and sub contractors.* Monitoring all kind of structural work at the site and make sure all work are in compliance with the drawings.* Cross checking and approving bar shedules.* Checking the quality of structural and non structural materials which are used at the site and give recommendations.* Approving concrete mixes (normal and admixture concrete) by performing trials according to consultants’ instructions.* Reviewing the method statements (structural and finishing work) and giving approvals.* Maintaining concrete records (monthly basis) / progress reports (daily and monthly) and relevant documentation work.* Monitoring health and safety aspects at the site.

• Obtaining 4 months hands on field experience in both consulting and construction aspects in a hotel building site at Galle fort, Galle, Sri Lanka (approx. Rs 240 million)• Responsibilities included ensuring progress according to plan, ensuring quality management and acting as a coordinator between the contractor and consultant.• Experience related to setting out work and construction of different structural members such as foundations, Walls, beams, columns and slabs etc.• Experience in finishing work such as block/brick work, plastering, painting, waterproofing. • Obtaining 2 months hands on field experience in designing, modeling and detailing of reinforced concrete structures in accordance with BS standards.
