As a trustee I focused on developing meaningful collaborations, such as with the IDBE programme at Cambridge University (see http://arupcommunity.org/projects/a/arup-education-trust-and-university-of-cambridge-collaboration) and sought to expose the beneficiaries to exciting work opportunities, both at Arup and other like-minded companies.

As a design manager working for a design & build contractor I took responsibility for the professional teams appointed on d&b projects, as well as preparing contractor's proposals for tenders. I managed the pre-construction phase of the conversion of 166 High Holborn in London from offices to a Travelodge (including survey, extensive investigative works to basement, structure and facade, asbestos identification & removal, design works, planning applications and strip out). I was also based at the All England Lawn Tennis Club (Wimbledon) for over a year, managing a team of designers & specialist sub-contractors working on project 2c (centre court upgrade and retractable roof project).

I primarily worked on projects in the OR Tambo (formerly Johannesburg International) airport precinct. Some were on site (International Terminal Upgrade) and others in detailed design, bidding and enabling works stage (International Retail Upgrade - including the glazed triangular nodes and Southern Sun Intercontinental hotel).
