Project Manager - Application MigrationThe P2CI (Physical to Converged Infrastructure) programme is responsible for migrating 5k Wintel and Linux instances from legacy infrastructure to strategic virtual platforms. The project encounters a mix of P2V (Physical to Virtual) V2V (Virtual to Virtual) P2P (Physical to Physical) and decommissioned transformation. The applications hosted are tier 1 business-critical services and require appropriate governance and change management along with business stakeholder support to successfully and safely migrate client-facing applications. Many Digital Applications require additional support to ensure service is not impacted and Load Balancers, Firewall and data flow are correctly captured.Responsibility includes Liaising with the business to agree on maintenance windows and application migration plans, working with the network team to discover firewall, load balancer and application-specific requirements, raising and managing appropriate change requests and representing them to a change boards, managing the server and application migration event, command and control, test and follow up fix forward or roll back post-event.

The Capital Resolution team was responsible for identifying, planning and migrating business-critical applications and data to secure platforms whilst complying with local regulatory requirements. This includes customer-facing digital applications and data, physical records and back office voice recordings. The challenge is discovering relevant application data, designing appropriate migration plans and executing the archiving process to meet legal and compliance deadlines as well as office closure dates. Businesses marked for closure were based throughout EMEA and APAC. My task was to migrate and archive relevant client data for unstructured digital applications for future retrieval operations relating to litigation or settlement requests. The project achieved its objectives with a significant saving on original budget estimates.

RBS was required to divest 300 branches, creating a new bank as a condition of the HM Treasury rescue package. I was engaged as a project manager to deliver Interconnects between RBS and Williams & Glyns private cloud hosted by IBM to facilitate the secure transfer of client data whilst complying with GDPR regulations. The project successfully delivered its objectives providing external WAN circuits for 3rd party connectivity, network infrastructure & connectivity enabling data transfer to new bank & support for credit cards, SWIFT, BACS and faster payments services.

The bank operates a number of trade customer platforms including cash machines and client websites. Projects include data centre migration, security remediation and security firewall upgrades. I worked closely with strategic vendors such as BT, IBM and PWC to deliver projects.
