This is a part time customer facing role to work around my studies. It was a part time job involving meeting and greeting customers, taking orders and dealing with customer queries on a regular basis. In this fast-paced customer facing job, I regularly had to troubleshoot issues with orders and manage the expectations of the customers. I worked with strict service deadlines and developed time management skills to ensure that the customers were served in a timely manner and that all duties were carried out effectively. From working in this role I became familiar with business computing software used within the hospitality sector; I regularly used point of sales systems, handled cash and took card & digital payments. Due to the importance that the customers leave feeling satisfied with the service that they had received, I was regularly commended by customers for my customer service skills. I not only worked in the restaurant but also at events such as Christmas parties and graduations. When working on these events, I had to set the tables and the room up for the events, welcome the customers, serve the food, clear tables and make sure that all of the customers standards were met and exceeded.
