I most recently worked on the rapid research team at Figma. I really enjoyed this role because I get to run fast paced product-focused research for teams from Artificial Intelligence usability to longitudinal Editor Performance benchmarks. My role is very collaborative, touches some interesting product problems around the organization, and allows me to make a difference by doing something I really enjoy: product research on a deadline!I had the opportunity to run ~4-8 projects per quarter across many topics:• unreleased product concept evaluation,• quarter-over-quarter benchmarking surveys,• Artificial Intelligence usability and interaction testing,• in-depth interviewing and usability testing on many new UIs,• benchmarking mobile interactions in a pop-up lab at Figma HQ, and• future-facing "how might we serve this audience" type explorations.I have also collaborated closely in mixed-methods research with concurrent projects running in data science, strategic research, and usability testing rapid research (me). These three workstreams were integrated into a seamless perspective that highlighted the red thread from usability to strategy to data and resulted in a shift in strategic thinking on Dev Mode.
