I have more than 20 years experience in University administration in different capacities dating back to the year 2000. I joined the Midlands State University (MSU), Zimbabwe, in May 2000 as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Economics. I was assisting in the teaching of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. In August 2000 I joined the Faculty of Commerce as an Administrative Assistant and that marked the beginning of my illustrious career as a University Administrator. In no time I rose through the ranks to be a Senior Administrative Assistant, Assistant Registrar and Senior Assistant Registrar. This was followed by my appointment to the post of Director, University Secretariat that I served with distinction before I was transferred to be Director of University Examinations, the post I held until 2010 when I left MSU.In May 2011 my University Administrative career saw me joining Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE), Zimbabwe as an Examinations Officer. This was familiar territory as I revamped the examination systems, processes and procedures at BUSE to the envy of Senior Executives and fellow colleagues. My stay at BUSE was shortlived as I vied for new challenges at the Great Zimbabwe University (GZU), Zimbabwe, which was under the new leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Rungano Jonasi Zvobgo. I joined GZU in May 2013 and was once again entrusted in handling the University’s Examinations processes as the Director of University Examinations. Since this was familiar ground, I hit the ground running and in no time in August 2013, I was appointed to the post of Deputy Registrar responsible for Academic Affairs. A lot happened during my tenure as Deputy Registrar Academic Affairs. We recruited international students for the University from Namibia, Swaziland, South Africa, Mozambique, South Sudan and other African nations. We opened Satelite Campuses in Harare, Bulawayo and Chiredzi. We organised and held magnificent Graduation Ceremonies that were always presided by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe. I witnessed the expansion and the growth of the Great Zimbabwe University as it spread to City Campuses and Mashava Campus.In January 2021 I felt that my time at GZU was up. I therefore left Great Zimbabwe University in January 2021 and joined the Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University (ZEGU), Zimbabwe in February 2021 as the University Registrar. I am enjoying my tenure at ZEGU as I have the huge task of setting up Administrative Systems, processes and procedures for this young emerging University.
