I've been writing software for a long time.I have fearlessly approached and solved many complex problems, some of which "they" said could not be done. My "Can DO" attitude is driven by the satisfaction I receive when I successfully prove "them" wrong.The high quality of my work is driven by my thirst for understanding, at the deepest practical level, how stuff works - especially what's beneath the surface of those "do it for you things" that, having an understanding of the foundation - invariably turn out to be just a white wash - i.e., they're really no easier.No - I don't mind using the high level things, they have their place - but if I had my druthers - I'd rather be writing them.Even though I put my absolute heart and soul into anything I do, especially software, I cannot find work and I've given up. There are significant problems in how software is developed and I'm writing a book on that.
