•Work with resource experts to produce (write and design) visitor guides, wayfinding exhibits and other public outreach information about the area•Write content for the website, including news articles, to keep the public informed in what the field office is involved in•Initiate ideas on new, interactive educational materials to be presented to visitors at the information center•Staff booths at community events with interactive education material so that the public can gain an appreciation for public lands•Environmental Education Coordinator for the St George Field Office (this spans from career fairs to coordinating and creating activities for school field trip and events, and reporting on each of these)•Part of the Utah BLM new media group•Write special recreation permits/categorial exclusions (SRP/CX)•Blogger for a national BLM blog targeted to 15-29 year olds [http://mypubliclands.tumblr.com/]•Produce short films on the area for the website, to promote recreation, along with awareness and safety•Work closely with our partners on education and/or volunteer activities•Worked in a committee focused on redesigning the Visitor Center for a better flow of information, which also coordinated public outreach events•President of the Employee Association•Photograph a variety of elements for the website, brochures, and new media platformsSpecialized Training: Visitor Services, Interpretive Writing, Interpretive Talks, Special Recreation Permits, National Environmental Policy Act, Technical Writing Awards: Won the BLM new media challenge in most facebook likes and most creative strategy in a month long competition against other BLM statesNote: The first year and a half, I worked for the BLM via the American Conservation Experience.
