I lead EY’s audit practice within the Power and Utilities and Cleantech sectors across multinational subsidiaries as well as large indigenous companies.Since joining EY in 1995 as a trainee I have worked in a variety of challenging roles before progressing to become an Audit Partner in 2010. This progression through the firm provided me with a deep knowledge of the internal audit and assurance services within a diverse range of sectors such as: Power Generation, Upstream Oil & Gas, Downstream Oil & Gas, Cleantech, Renewables, Utilities as well as Life Sciences, Pharma and Technology.Through my role as an Audit Partner I have worked with clients to provide external and internal audit services, risk management and governance advice and technical accounting advice across a range of reporting frameworks including IFRS, US GAAP and UK GAAP, including conversion to new GAAP (FRS101/102).Throughout my career in EY, I have worked in a number of other service lines including Risk Advisory and Transaction Advisory Services . Work in these areas ranged from business planning for a sludge treatment facility to leading a due diligence team on the acquisition of a major waste water treatment plant in Ireland. I also provided outsourced internal audit services to large state and semi-state organisations.I have advised on emerging utilities issues including CNG for transportation and the creation of a water and waste-water utility. In addition I presented at an industry conferences on Ocean Renewables in 2010.I have worked with the Entrepreneur of the Year Programme since 2005 and over the years have brought several finalists through from nomination stage. I also represent EY at the New Frontiers Programme in CIT (formerly Genesis) and count several entrepreneurial / start-up companies amongst my clients. I am a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants where I have been involved in the drafting and revision of Practice Notes by the Auditing Practices Board.
