I relish economic development. I’m inspired by the long-term impact it has on a city and the community. I marvel at the real, tangible assets that are created and last for generations. However, economic development is a complex process. One that takes passion and experience. One I’ve devoted my career to. I’ve been interested and involved with real estate and commercial real estate development since law school.My legal foundation is litigation. I learned early in my career about the issues and drivers that impact projects. I enjoyed the research and the satisfaction of finding an agreeable resolution when a conflict arose.I started to work with developers on the economics and business side of their projects. Helping them with strategy, planning and land zoning. Providing insight into the financial incentives available. Helping them successfully navigate the complex process that goes into successfully building a major commercial development.Over the years, I’ve gained experience and developed relationships with the many civic, elected, business and community stakeholders involved. I know not everyone gets everything that they want. There are different expectations and desired outcomes, so I try to manage expectations. Throughout the process, I explore options to mediate and resolve the litigation. In the end, I believe it’s best to avoid lengthy and costly disputes and facilitate ways to deliver a successful project that positively impacts the community.Its why I’ve been involved with most of the major commercial development projects in New Orleans. From developers new to town that want to start a project, to existing developers who are adding or expanding, people turn to me to get things done.Economic development is something I love and have a long history of success.
