The European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) offers the unique Climate-KIC programme. In this programme, a selection of Master students gets the opportunity to improve its entrepreneurial skills by learning about and creating systems change in climate change issues. The highlight of the programme is the Climate KIC summer school. In a period of 4 weeks, I attended online lectures, seminars and workshops in which I designed a sustainable entrepreneurial project with my European peers.

As a trainee I was part of a team that develops a sustainable project. In this process trainees were coached by a professional on their personal development. I learned a lot about project management and personal development. In this process, I was co-founder of project Steekje Los. Our aim was to spread awareness about the impact of the fast fashion industry on humans and the environment. We promoted slow fashion and worked with the concept of Refuse, Reduce, Repair and Recyle.Our goal was to save 1000 pieces of clothes from going to landfil within 3 months. We visited universities, secondary schools and events to provide interactive lectures and upcycling workshops. We managed to save 1108 pieces within 3 months.

San Ramón, Costa Rica

SDG Gender Equality/ Women EmpowermentMusade is a nonprofit organisation in Costa Rica and orients its work towards the dissemination of rights and the strengthening of the organization and mobilization of women, in the search for a better quality of life. I was part of a team organising activities for women and the youth (i.e. dance performance and theater classes in Spanish). I also created a short film about gender equality in Costa Rica.

After I finished my bachelor I worked with pleasure for VitaValley as a secretary. I did this until I left to work in Costa Rica.

I organized a Flashmob in Wageningen's city centre which aimed to surprise the City Mayor, he WUR Executive Board and other attendees. Next to engaging in the team's promotion activities I had the chance to deploy my dancing skills

Nacht van de Fooi is an annual event that takes place in 14 cities in the Netherlands. Participating restaurants and cafes donate their tip on this specific day to Nacht van de Fooi. Stichting Wilde Ganzen doubles the amount of money that is raised which goes to 6 small sustainable development projects. The board aims to organise a succesful day and night by involving as many as possible catering industries and by organizing activities in the city centre.
