Iris Mire is a Student at University of Chicago at Lincoln Park Zoo. Colleagues describe her as "As a ZooMonitor intern at Lincoln Park Zoo, Iris contributed substantially to the animal monitoring program this past summer. Not only did she design animal monitoring projects alongside her fellow interns and Animal Care staff, she helped create a video database of animal behaviors which will be used to improve the ZooMonitor volunteer training program and is planned as a resource for other zoos to help identify behaviors. Iris took advantage of opportunities to learn about other areas of the zoo by participating in professional development events, gaining valuable career advice from all levels of staff.
