Irishlad Freelancing is the writing business I started in 2005. I focus on consumer and trade magazines. I have won several awards for articles about the golf industry. I have been working recently on a novel, The Anniversary Gift, a story about a family that deals with the consequences of a family tragedy.

Kansas City Metropolitan Area

Within the ITWorks organization, I was responsible for managing hardware and software implementations for 10 facilities in the Midwest and Northeast regions. I developed detailed project plans and managed the project scope. I handle: managing project action items, risks/issues and all project deliverables, managing cross-organizational resources as needed. Using Agile processes, I led weekly scrums and kept the work flowing and resolved issues to our clients' satisfaction. I am also experienced in waterfall style projects.

Kansas City, Missouri Area

I was responsible for managing hardware and software implementations involving delivery of CernerWorks solutions to eight large hospitals on the East Coast. I develop detailed project plans and manage the project budget. I handle: managing project action items, risks/issues and all project deliverables, managing cross-organizational resources as needed, running project meetings, and driving projects through all deployment phases. I managed one of largest new client footprints for Cerner in the remote hosted space. With three hospitals and 2500 users, this hospital network will utilizes a full suite of Cerner's solutions. I managed a team of 5 engineers and DBAs who support my clients.

I worked for Sprint.com as a web consultant. I drove solutions within the business and consumer content areas on the site and worked with the creative and IT teams to make them happen. I helped develop content projects for areas on the site covering business applications and services. My technical background and experience in publishing were terrific assets in this environment.

I was a staff consultant for Sapphire Technologies working as a program manager in the architecture group for Verizon Business. I managed multiple large scale programs dealing with internal and external systems.

I managed large scale programs in the Network Services area for Sprint Nextel. I have handled projects over $20 million in budget and more than 25,000 hours of labor.
