Iris Quek has a Bachelor of Music from the Lasalle College of the Arts Singapore, Master in Musicology (Universität Saarland, Germany). She has been awarded a scholarship for Spanish music in Germany. Her current topic for research is on the Extended Techniques of the Piano.Iris also plays the piano professionally and has been awarded with the Licentiate from the West London University, London College of music (LCM) . She is now pursuing her Fellowship with LCM.Previously, her piano teachers include Nancy Yap (Singapore), Jongah Yoon (Korea),Dr Minyee (Korea) and Dr Akadiusz Bialak (Poland). She has also been selected to perform at masterclasses of Dr Nicholas Ng(Malaysia) and Gustavo Romero (USA).Iris is also an avid composer and has written originals for children musicals and has premiered small ensemble works in Asia. Her composition teachers include the late Professor Brandmüller(Germany), Professor Nonweiler(Germany) , Philip Tan (Singapore) and Lindsey Vickery (Australia)
